Banff Townsite Info
Banff truly is a unique place, set in Canada's oldest National Park, surrounded by the wild and rugged Canadian Rockies. Nature is easy to spot around Town, wether it be Rundle Mountain, Bow Falls or an Elk Grazing outside your window, nature is everywhere.
Banff is also interesting in that it contains a mix of historic and new feel to it. Looking at the old sandstone buildings and the world famous Banff Springs Hotel, it feels like your in a different time. On the other hand a venture around downtown you will find world class dining and high end shops you would expect in a City ten times its size.
As far as activities go in Banff, there is no shortage! There are endless trails within town limits that navigate its various creeks, rivers, falls, lakes, ponds and viewpoints.
The town also lies within an hour of 4 different premier ski resort's. Nakiska, Norquay, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise all offer world class skiing/snowboarding and each one boasts a unique feel and varied terrain.
The only problem you will find when visiting Banff is that there isn't enough time to experience everything the town has to offer!
